Trip Report

We had perfect summer weather for a meander through the arboretum and beyond. From the bridge in the arboretum, we saw many frogs resting on lily pads, enjoying a sun bath. We identified several bird calls and enjoyed watching some medium sized birds of prey flying all over, although we were unable to identify them. Late June wildflowers were in abundance, especially the gentian and sea foam. The willow shrubs growing along the river bank have gotten so big they nearly block access to the river’s edge. The path behind the gazebo was closed, so we will explore that another time. All of us enjoyed a lovely summer morning.
