Pisgah Trails

Description:

Turn right at the sign for West Summit Trailhead and follow pay fee signs. I'll try to have my car in the row below so that it is easy for us to meet, sign up. etc. Depending on weather, I plan to take back trails (#4 and the steep #2) to the summit, avoiding the main trail #1. Mileage and elevation could vary but around 7 miles at a steady pace. Estimated time is 3 hours so bring snacks. We will divide into two groups if pace varies. Once we reach the summit, you have the option of going back down on the main trail or the less steep one. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions.

If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase a day pass one at the pay station by trailhead. To buy an annual pass, see the website for Friends of Buford Park, (a donation).

Trip Report

An early start on the back trails of Mt Pisgah offered shade, few people and lots purple iris. To celebrate Mother's Day, each of us shared an amusing story about our mothers. Back at the parking lot at 11:15, it was 80 degrees and the three rows of parking were filled. We were ready for a cold beverage!
