Trip Report

Portland Rose Parade bus departed under cloudy skies with threat of rain. Travel route was I-5 freeway with a brief stop at Champoeg rest area. Pre-parade Program was in progress as we were seated. These were band performances from competition the evening before. After some problems with moving strangers from our seating area, the parade fascinated us with gorgeous floats, an adorable miniature 20-mule team, Grand Marshal Pat Boone, Rose Queen and her Royal Court, too many bands and too many individuals riding horses.

After the parade we were escorted to Champoeg Park where we enjoyed our sack lunches, enjoyed the museums and Newell House, then home by 5:30 p.m.
