Description:

Backpack through an astonishing never-logged virgin forest and climb to sweeping views along the Pacific Crest Trail on this 25-mile weekend backpack loop through the Red Buttes Wilderness. Depart Friday, 4.5 hours to Shoofly Trailhead dropping a car at Horse Camp TH on the way. Hike 7 miles to camp at Cedar Flat near Azalea Lake. Saturday, hike to the Siskiyou Crest and the Pacific Crest trail traveling 11 miles atop the Red Buttes range. Camp below Red Butte. Sun 7 miles to car.
