Description:

Meet at the Ribbon Trailhead, Spring St. at 30th (north side of the overpass at 30th, on street parking), at 8:30. There are several options to access Bloomberg Park, Black Oak Basin, Coryell Ridge, and Moon Mountain. If the weather cooperates, we may take up to three hours walking the various routes and will be finished well before lunch. I have a new! improved! map of the area. No restrooms. There are unavoidable muddy sections.
Cold is good - the mud will be frozen.
If 30th is unsafe due to snow or ice we will reschedule.

Trip Report

We spent about 3 hours, maybe 7 miles and 800 ft. Lots of mud. A tangle of formal and user trails. We had the whole place to ourselves and the area was new to most hikers. Found some locations with nice views to north, east, and south. Looked at several public access points and found them lacking, recommend starting like we did at the 30th and Spring trailhead.
