Description:

Meet at the Obsidian Lodge to start the hike on the Ribbon Trail to Hendricks Park. This is an opportunity to find out about the Obsidians, get acquainted with members, and visit our lodge. The Lodge is hard to find so I suggest you get directions and map from Obsidian home page. No trip fees.

Drive past the Laurelwood Golf Course, turn right on Spring Blvd, a one lane road. Spring Blvd deadheads, turn left and immediately look for the Obsidians Inc. sign and gate(driveway) to your right. Enter the driveway and follow the gravel road to the parking areas and Lodge. Members are welcome to sign up to help answer questions.

Trip Report

Twelve guests joined eight members for the Ribbon Trail hike and refreshments at the Lodge.
Fortunately we were in the Lodge eating apple crisp when the the heavy rain flew over. People heard about the hike from friends, the website, Register Guard Outdoor section, and Eugene Weekly. Some had just moved to Eugene, others just retired, and some wanted to lead a healthier life style. Drop in guests were Meredith Anderson, Yukdv Bevenshtein, Chris Borgen, Melissa Bradley, Kristen Johnson, Rody Miller, Alan True. Thanks to members who helped welcome guests and encouraged them to participate in our activities.
