For this month's outing we will work with Parks and Open Space's staff to replace the handrails on the 2 bridges.

Meet at the Fox Hollow Trailhead parking lot, the gravel lot on Fox Hollow.

Trip Report

Our group of volunteers met at the Fox Hollow Trailhead parking lot for our last project with Deverton Cochrane of Parks and Open Space. We carried tools and pre-cut lumber up the trail to replace one set of handrails on each of the 2 bridges along the Ridgeline below the Raptor Center. We first removed the existing handrails before carrying them back down to the truck. our work was greatly aided by the battery powered impacts and drills. We next attached the posts for the rails using lag bolts requiring us to reach up underneath the bridge. The last step was to attached the new handrails. The new posts and rails are cedar and will hopefully out last the bridges. We look forward to replacing the other handrails during one of our next outings.
