Trip Report

Thirteen Obsidian members showed up for trail clearing on the Ridgeline Trails this morning. The ice storm that hit last week knocked down thousands of trees with many covering the trails we hike on so often. We started at the small lot on Willamette & 52nd Avenue and worked the trail going East and then up the tie trail. We cleared the trail of smaller tree falls - generally anything under 10" in diameter. We cut, cleared, and raked the trail for a mile, then cleared what we could for about 1/2 mile up the tie trail. Many large trees down, up to about 4-1/2' in diameter. A very sad sight.
