Rooster Rock via Trout Creek Trail

Description:
Hike leader will meet hikers at the Trout Creek trailhead at 9:30 am. There is limited parking at the trailhead
We will ascend to the summit on the Trout Creek trail, then descend 1.6 miles to the Rooster Rock trailhead(east), come back up to Trout Creek trail and descend. The elevation loss/gain on the Rooster Rock trail is ~1500'. It is possible to opt out of this additional challenge and head back to the trailhead.
Please be aware of your fitness. We will be walking at about 2 miles per hour. If you aren't sure, it's probably too hard. This is a steep hike, 2300' of elevation gain in 3.2 miles during the first ascent.
Microspikes are recommended as there may be snow at the summit.
