Trip Report

Our eight-mile Mother’s Day Sunday turned out to be a great adventure.
Cloudy day cleared so we enjoyed an abundance of wildflowers on a sunny day. Rocky gorge of swollen thundering Salmon Creek was beautiful. Everyone relished the greenery. Then, in the middle of our lunch, weather brought persistent hail. We crossed a dozen slippery trail bridges, waded boggy Skunk Cabbage drainages and slid muddy slopes until we reached the railroad bridge.
Crossing the railroad span over the wild Salmon Creek rapids was big fun for our undaunted group of eight.
Soaked, tired and happy.
