Trip Report

The trip was originally planned for Salt Creek Falls, but due to low snow levels, we relocated it to Odell Overlook and notified everyone of the change. Initially, 10 people had signed up, but only two of us went ahead -- and we found it to be well worth the effort.

It was a beautiful sunny day; there were some bare spots but plenty of snow to enjoy snowshoeing. We enjoyed the view from the Overlook and trekked a ways on the PCT.

South Eugene HS had brought a busload of students up and they were cooking lunch over a fire -- it was heartening to see kids learning outdoor skills on a beautiful day.

This week there was minimal wood left for the wood stove at the shelter. That status could change at any time.
