Join Elakha Alliance’s Katie Russell for an engaging, educational evening all about the Elakha Alliance… and SEA OTTERS! Katie will share efforts to support the restoration of sea otters to the Oregon coast – reviving an essential keystone species to help restore balance to nearshore ecosystems. You will also learn fascinating facts about sea otters, discover the vital role kelp forests play in coastal health, and get tips on how to tell the difference between sea otters and river otters. Whether you’re an otter enthusiast or just curious about our coastal ecosystems, this is a fun and informative event you won’t want to miss!

Supplies and Equipment Required: Bring a potluck dish to share (a main dish, casserole, salad, bread, dessert), but please DO NOT bring serving utensils. DO bring your own personal plate, eating utensils and cup or mug - all of which you will take home to wash. You may bring a non-alcoholic beverage. Decaf coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be provided. - We have a section for Vegetarian Main dishes. We also provide labels to indicate vegan dishes or those with food-related allergies. Please use the labels or bring your own small label of ingredients. Since salads may or may not contain meat, please label yours if it does.

participant prerequisites: You do not need to be an Obsidians member to attend. No sign-up is necessary to attend Potlucks & Presentations. If you want to attend only the presentation, please arrive at the Obsidians Lodge just before 7:30 PM.
