Description:

Load bus at (former) Shopko site 7:45 a.m.; Depart at 8:00 a.m.

Join us for a day of learning, relaxing and playing. Traveling north on Hwy 99, our first stop will be at Seneca Lumber to learn more about the innovative technology and cogeneration process they utilize to generate power and thermal energy from waste products left behind after logging and lumber production. This will be followed by a coffee break at Orchard Point Park on Fern Ridge Lake before continuing our drive to the coast via Hwy 36 and Triangle Lake. Lunch will be on your own in Old Town in Florence. After lunch we’ll drive south of Florence to board large buggies for a tour in the dunes. Be sure to bring warm clothing, a hooded coat or sweatshirt, and be prepared for the weather. Our return trip will be on Hwy 126 with a stop at the Gingerbread House for snacks before returning to Eugene at approximately 6:00 p.m.
