Full Ridgeline w/Shuttle

  • Start date: 04/26/2018

  • Start time: 12:00 AM

  • End date: 04/26/2018

  • End time: 11:59 PM

Description:

We will use a car shuttle to facilitate the hike the Ridgeline Trail from Blanton to Spring trailhead. A great way to hike the entire Ridgeline trail. A steady pace with up and downs for the one way hikers. If there are hikers who want to return to Blanton for a longer hike, we will probably divide into two groups. Please check if you can drive. I’ll need "one way" hikers to leave car(s) at Spring trailhead before 8:00 and those (either round trip or one way) to help with the 8:00 carpool to Blanton. My email is jbjacobsen@comcast.net
Depending on the weather, doubling the distance and doing this is as an out and back is option for those interested. I would also like to do the return part if it works out with the shuttle. My email is jbjacobsen@comcast.net Dave Cooper would lead the return portion.

Trip Report

The plan to offer the one way hike with the option of a round trip went smoothly with only five of us. Dave Cooper left his car at the Spring Trailhead at sunrise and starting hiking to the Blanton Trailhead where he met the rest of us via my car shortly after 8:00. He barely had enough time for a snack before we were hiking back the way he came. Two hours later we were at the Dillard trailhead. Dave led the group up to Baldy and down to his welcoming car while I headed back to Blanton for the two hour hike to my car. We were able to keep a steady pace, visit, and have quick looks at the many wildflowers. The trail was in excellent condition with very little litter.
