Description:

Join us for this beautiful forested Trail of Ten Falls loop that leads to 10 spectacular waterfalls. The hike is a 7.2 mile loop (800 feet elevation gain) at Silver Falls State Park. Day use state park fee is $5.

Meet at Winco on Coburg Road at 8:45 a.m. As you face the store, park in the Southwest Corner of the parking lot, nearest the Coburg Road entrance. The drive takes about 1.5 hours. If interested, we could stop somewhere on the way back.

Trip Report

Trail of Ten Falls: Sunny skies coupled with lively-flowing waterfalls made for a truly stunning hike. We started at the North Falls parking lot, and hiked CCW, stopping at the South Falls Lodge and Cafe at about the 5-mile mark for lunch. While we did bring our lunches, the lodge has a take-out cafe that offers hot and cold sandwiches, salads, burgers, ice cream (delicious!), coffee and other drinks. After lunch, we finished up the last couple of miles to return to North Falls parking lot. This hike was listed as \"easy\" but recommend that it be labeled as \"moderate\" in the future. The loop was 7.4 miles, with an 800-foot elevation gain. Even though it had not rained recently, there are slippery and rocky conditions around some of the falls, and the trail is uneven in places. <br />
