Description:

As every year we will participate in SOLVE spring beach cleanup. This spring we will clean Florence’s South Jetty 10AM~ 1PM

This event is part of the annual Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup, a statewide effort to keep our beaches healthy and reduce the impacts to marine life. SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own bags for litter pickup.
On the way back we will stop in Florence for lunch.

Trip Report

We were again lucky with weather. Collectively we collected approximately 125 lbs. of mixed garbage.
Mostly plastic, tin can and glass beverage containers, coffee cups, food wrappings, miscellaneous small plastic pieces, socks, fishing lines and much more. Biggest catch by my knowledge are found by Kathy Randall in form of big piece of thick rope and camera accessory bag.
After beach cleanup we drove to Florence’s downtown for lunch and ice cream. Thank you everybody for participation.
