Description:

Meet at 29th & Willamette Market of Choice parking lot in front of the US Bank front door. This is a fairly fast paced hike, not a saunter. We will be walking primarily on streets with little traffic, but also on some trails. The goal is to explore some city passages and steps which connect neighborhoods, burn some calories, and with some luck, perhaps even see a coatimundi!

Trip Report

At the end of the urban hike, everyone agreed that it was an interesting workout. The route started at Market of Choice, through Morse Farm where Dorothy pointed out a red shouldered hawk's nest and through Lafferty Park where we saw the nearby home of two coatimundis (unfortunately, they were hiding). Up steep Brookside and down steep walking paths brought us to Willamette. Marguerite showed us the Edgewood pool and park which none of us had seen before. Another couple of miles on low traffic streets and through two school yards brought us back to the market. It was a excellent morning visiting with friends and getting some exercise.
