Description:

As the snowpack is very low this year, the time for ski descents of our volcanoes is now! By this time I hope the Cascade Lakes highway will be open to Green Lakes TH.We will drive over on Saturday night and camp near Green Lake. An early start Sunday will put us on the summit by noon or 1 pm, then we will ski down as far as possible. This trip is very weather dependent, as we do not want to be on the mountain in rainy, cloudy, or very windy weather, and avalanche risk is also a concern. A trip up to the base of Broken Top is a possible alternative if the road does not open.

Update as of April 20th: the trip has been changed to a one-day ski on Diamond Peak from Pioneer Gulch. We plan to leave from SEHS at 6:30.
