Trip Report

Our party of eight left Devil's Lake at 5:45 a.m. and headed for the "Red Ridge." The climb was rather uneventful on the way up. The weather was real windy, but passable climbing. Half the party - leader Steve McManigal, Bob Moffitt, Richard Steffenson, and Mark Swift - carried skis to the top. The skiing down was very good. We reached Moraine Lake from the summit in 15 minutes. The hike out from Moraine Lake was a letdown after skiing down from the summit. Gene Thaxton, Tom Donnelly, Fran Gnose, and Kris Shuraleff were the other half of the party that hiked down.
