Trip Report

We left town at 6:00 a.m. for this one day climb of South Sister, and were on our way from Devils Lake by 9:00 a.m. Passed by Moraine Lake, on to Lewis Glacier and Red Ridge, and were on the windy and cold summit by 3:00 p.m. Deep snow is still in the trees below Moraine Lake and the lake is still frozen over. Back to the cars at 7:00 and home later were Bob Foster, John Cecil, John Powell, Joe Lowry, Betty Legris, Ron Leland, & leader Lee Hatch.
