Trip Report

If you think the Red Ridge of this peak is bad, try this route sometime. Two words sum it up - scree and sand, 3500 feet of it. But a welcome change from the usual routes. Camped East of Skyline Trail near Hinton Creek. Five hours to summit, by noon. Perfect weather. Returned to cars at 8:15; home shortly after midnight. Overall, a pretty good climb. Climbers: Jack Ewing, Barbara Mickel, Wes Prouty, Lois Templeton, and leader Bert Ewing.
