Trip Report

This trip could have gone with the Anselmos except there were too many for a wilderness trip so the split off. We hiked to Moraine Lake on Saturday, August 27th, and stayed overnight nearby. The lake area itself was greatly overcrowded with tents on every available spot. Sunday we climbed South Sister on the walk-up trail and took five hours to do so. Somehow, it's not quite as easy as it was ten years ago when the leader last went up this mountain. The weather was perfect. All of the group made it to the top and thoroughly enjoyed the views. We made it down to camp in three hours and remained in camp until Monday when we walked out via the Green Lakes Trail. Those enjoying the trip and the views atop South Sister were Thomas and Gayle Ragsdale, Helen Reed, Steve Ingerson, Patricia and John Kocher (leader).
