This is a 1-day trip - we expect to start hiking at 9 am & finish by 6 pm; bring flashlight. No water along the way, so bring plenty. Prepare for cool & windy at the top, wind-chill could be 35F. Bad weather postpones trip to the following Sunday, Sept. 30

Trip Report

We convened at SEHS at 6 am, then car-pooled in two cars to the trailhead. We hit the trail at 9 am on a partly cloudy cool day. We encountered only about 20 others along the way, opposed to the usual 100 or so on most September Sundays. It was a reasonably fast group and we maed the summit about 1:30, in and out of the clouds. After an hour or so lounging at the top, we started down, arriving at the parking lot at 6:30. No mishaps, and everyone had a lovely day.
