Description:

The tree-lined neighborhood of South University contains a wonderful mix of homes from the early 1900s, many of which are adorned with Holiday lights. We will be walking the neighborhood enjoying the views while learning about 12 historic structures.

The walk begins at Oolong Teahouse (1607 E. 19th Ave., Eugene, next to Price Pucklers Ice Cream). Plan for our walk to last 1.5 hours. Afterwards, warm up at McMenamins on 19th with a beverage and/or a burger.

Trip Report

We had anticipated seeing more lights than we did, but did see a few and learned a little about the historic homes in the area. Afterward, ten of the group enjoyed dinner at the McMenamins on 19th.
