  • End date: 03/31/2019

Description:

This will be a trillium hike on the last day of spring break. They are just beginning to bloom on the Ridgeline Trail. The pace will be “almost” moderate with time to spot and enjoy the trillium—but not get out your flower identification book. Email me if you would prefer not to go the top of the Butte but want to turn back at Fox Hollow or the last junction before the summit. jbjacobsen@comcast.net

To get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left. Drive past Kinney Park and park on Martin Street at the Kiosk sign board across from Canyon Drive Street sign with hiker symbol. One can take LTD Bus #28 to Martin Street.

Trip Report

The brilliant white trillium flowers standing stately along the trail and up in the woods must have received an additional boost of energy from the snow storm. We spotted a few calpyso orchids and many fawn lilies ready to bloom. It was a warm greeting for our hike to the summit with views of the snow capped mountains. It was a lovely spring hike with friends.
