Description:

NOTE CHANGE IN ROUTE: We will ONLY be hiking on officially opened trails. We will meet at Martin St. as usual and hike up to Fox Hollow. From there we will turn left and take the upper trail south east to the Dillard Road Parking lot. We will return to Fox Hollow via the lower trail and then back to Martin Street. We will not be hiking up to Mt. Baldy because that trail is not officially open. This is about the best we can do for a few weeks until more of the Ridgeline trails officially open. Distances and elevations are crudely estimated and probably wrong.
To get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left. Drive past Kinney Park and park on Martin at the Kiosk sign board across from Canyon Drive Street sign with hiker symbol. Please call the leader if any questions.

Trip Report

Because some of the Ridgeline Trails are not officially open, we changed the usual route and did not go up Spencer's Butte. Instead, we hiked from Martin Street up to Fox Hollow junction and took the upper trail to the Dillard Road Parking Lot. We returned to Fox Hollow via the lower trail and then back down to Martin Street. According to GPS we hiked about 4.6 miles and gained about 650 ft. elevatiion including all of the ups and downs. There was and unusually large amount of water on the trail due to heavy runoff from recent rain. clogged culverts and changes in surface flow around downed trees.
