Trip Report

An impressive turnout (13 volunteers) greeted a dreary day on Spencer Butte. The days project was to continue working along the main trail just below the treeline to improve the trailbed, make the trail passable for power-wheelbarrows, and plant native plants to help rehabilitate overused unofficial side trails.

The day was very eventful including, a power-wheelbarrow that wouldn't start, a thrown track on the other, and rain on a trail maintenance outing. In the collective memory of Obsidian Trail Maintenance Volunteers it had never actually rained during a trail maintenance outing before, I guess there is a first time for everything.

We accomplished a lot of work packing in all of the supplies and were able to improve another 40 feet of trail which is now ready to be graveled.
