Trip Report

For this month’s project our main focus was to improve the drainage of water away from the cobbled West Trail that we have been working to uncover. We worked with Christer LaBrecque to construct various forms of drainage including rolling drain dips, outsloping trail, and packed earth water bars.

We also used sticks and logs to brush out the trail sides to help keep people from walking on them. This was in preparation for October’s outing during which we will replant the trail sides and hopefully begin the natural process of rehabilitating and revegetating along the West Trail.
