**IMPORTANT: We will be meeting at the Willamette & 52nd parking lot for this outing. Please park on 52nd and walk to the trailhead.**

For this outing we will be working to repair and improve the Ridgeline Trail through the meadow leading from the Willamette & 52nd parking lot. The trail has been catching and channeling water which has eroded the trail surface. Our work will be to add rolling drain dips and resurface parks of the trail. Please park on 52nd Street and walk to the Willamette & 52nd parking lot. The Willamette & 52nd lot is small and the City will need most of the lot for all the equipment we'll need for the project.

Trip Report

We broke into several small groups taking on the tasks of cleaning, enlarging, and digging new rolling drain dips in the new section of Ridgeline Trail that leads out of the Willamette & 52 parking lot. The previous year we had put gravel on the trail but, the way that the hill drains led to a lot of erosion of the trail surface.

As we progressed some from our group began to bring gravel for the new trail surface up the trail in power-wheelbarrows. A couple of volunteers also worked to clear Himalayan blackberries back away from the trailhead kiosk. To help encourage people and pets to stay on the trail we lined the downhill side of the trail with limbs and trunks of a pine and clump hawthorne that Christer and Josh cut down in the meadow.

Only time will tell if the added drainage will help keep the trail surface from eroding further.
