We will be planting the tall bugbane plants that we salvaged over the summer from along the Ridgeline Trail on Blanton Ridge. In addition, we will also be cleaning leaves off the cobble West Trail.

Trip Report

Our group of undauntable volunteers met up with Christer LaBrecque of the City's Parks and Open Space Division. He gave us a quick rundown of the day's work plan...plant the tall bugbane plants we'd salvaged during this past May's outing from along the Ridgeline in Blanton Heights. We'd be planting them in very wet weather along the West Trail. Our group separated into 2 groups those that were going to plant the plants and those that would clean the cobbled section of trail.

Our group of green-thumbed planters made quick work of planting the tall bugbane so they began to transplant sword ferns. Those of us that were working to clean the cobbled section also finished quickly and began to pull in brush to put along the sides of the trail to block the trail from widening more.

It was a very wet day as evidenced by the group spotting a salamander out in the open.

After an hour and a half we'd worked ourselves out of things to do and the continuous rain didn't stop us from enjoying a job well done.
