Description:

The Trail is closed from 7:00am -4:00 pm. Hopefully we will be able to start our hike to the summit and not disrupt the construction crew as they move equipment back to the staging area.
It will be interesting to see the preliminary work and how many logs (at least 40) they have moved up to the Tie Trail.

Trip Report

The Tie Trail is closed for repair for two months on weekdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Thus we left the Fox Hollow trailhead at 4:00 and soon reached the Tie Trail intersection. The construction crew had been busy for two weeks hauling gravel and 40 plus peeler logs to replace the ones on the sides of the trail. Surprise! We reached the section that was resurfaced and compacted this past week. What a difference! We never saw the construction crew —the same company who did the summit steps—to say "Thanks!" Peg said, "I loved it all but your Phantom Orchid find was pretty amazing."
We saw few hikers on our two hour hike. It was Jennifer Crim's third hike and her application is ready to mail.
