Description:

We will be continuing to work to improve the Ridgeline Trail up from the Willamette & 52nd trailhead. We will be graveling, armoring culverts, cutting back overhanging brush, and improving the trailbed.

Trip Report

Our group of volunteers for this year's first outing met at the Willamette and 52nd trailhead before continuing a short distance up the trail to meet with Josh and Christer of EPOS.

After introductions and a short outline of the days projects we grabbed shovels and hoes and headed up to the switchbacks to continue our work to improve that section of the Ridgeline Trail. Clara, Roberta, and Autumn worked to clear the ditch in the raised turnpike section and planted ferns along the sides of the culvert's outlet trench to make it look more natural.

Janet, Marsha, Dave, and Nancy worked hard improving the tread, spreading gravel, and cleaning up drainage features in the lower section of the switchback.

Todd, Dan, and Bob worked to add rocks and ferns to the second corner in the switchback to help to prevent people and pets from short-cutting it.

Ed and Ron were aided by Autumn and Trenton in removing stones and cleaning up spoils as they worked to lengthen and improve the drainage ditch at the third switchback.
