Description:

Meeting place is Spring Blvd Trailhead, not so easy to find. You will get to see the culvert that the Obsidians put in a few weeks ago. If you need directions to the trailhead or want me to pick you up at Albertsons on 30th, email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net
Depending on the weather and the stamina of the group, we may divide into two groups at one of the trail junctions. I
If you want a shorter trip, you could opt to meet us at the Dillard East Trailhead.

Trip Report

We left the quiet Spring Blvd Trailhead at 7:30 am and two hours later, we were on top of the sparsely populated Spencer Butte On the way down we think we met hordes of summiting Pisgahterians (Pisgah was closed because of the fire). At the scenic switchback on the steps, hikers cheered and clapped when Lynn carefully retrieved a plastic bottle in poison oak on a precarious gravelly steep slope. Thanks to Dave who guided us on the Baldy and Fox Hollow upper and lower trails adding variety and more elevation. We were back at the Spring Trailhead at 11:30.
