Trip Report

This was the third annual Stocking Stuffer event. I unlocked the gate at 9:00 and soon after, cars started rolling in. Decorated tables, a fire in the fireplace, and hot apple cider set the tone for our time together. Thirty-five people were soon busy taking care of the potluck items and deciding if raingear would be needed for the 10:00 Ribbon Trail hike. Mari Baldwin and I each led a group on the Ribbon Trail to Hendricks Park. Back at the lodge at 11:30, we enjoyed catching up on the news and meeting new members. There were seven delicious soups for us to sample. Thanks to everyone who shared their special foods and helped with the prep and clean up tasks. Joella Ewing did an amazing job of organizing the potluck. We collected 129 pairs of socks to give to the Egan Warming Center. It was a peaceful way to start the holiday season.
