Description:

For this month's outing we will clean the summit steps. For those not wishing to hike to the summit, we will clean the trailhead kiosk and steps.

We will work using social distancing and all participants need to bring their own mask and tools.

Meet at the main Willamette Trailhead parking lot, the paved lot on Willamette.

Trip Report

We met at the main Spencer Butte parking lot for an evening of household chores conducted in the out of doors. For Dan, Larry, and I our project was to hike to the top of the butte and clean the stairs. We used garden hoes to loosen and scrape away the caked and hard-packed gravel. Then blew the remainder away with a backpack leaf blower which made short work of cleaning the stairs as well as blocking out the sun.

Joanna and Clara cleaned the parking lot stairs so well it looked like someone blew them off with leafblower but the lack of dust on the cars in the parking lot was testified to their hardwork.
