For this month's outing we will clean the summit steps, do trailside brushing, and clean the trailhead steps and kiosk.

Meet at the main Willamette Trailhead parking lot, the paved lot on Willamette Street.

Trip Report

For the first Wednesday evening outing of our summer schedule we hiked up the butte to clean the summit steps. We carried garden hoes, flat bladed shovels, a broom, and a backpack leaf blower. Using the shovels and hoes Janet, Jorry, and Dan made short work of breaking up the hard packed dirt and grit from the steps. Then, we used the leaf blower to "sweep" the stairs clean. After the last couple of overcast days we enjoyed clear sky, sun, and views of the snow covered Three Sisters while we worked.

Clara, as always, cleaned the trailhead steps perfectly.
