Description:

Come and take a look at Eugene's largest park. It is yet to be fully developed but right now there are roads and trails to investigate. We'll meet at the Shell Station on Franklin Blvd just north for the 30th Ave interchange. (where you turn to head to Pisgah) Park in the extend parking lot. It's just a short drive to the south entrance to the park but there is limited parking.

Carla & went out to and there was nobody there. I'm upping the participants to 8. It's only a 4 mile drive to the trail head.
Some of the "trail" fades away into dry grass but by then you're out of the poison oak. Long pants, for sure.

Trip Report

Clouds and fog seemed to be everywhere this morning except and Suzanne Arlie Park. It was a sunny morning with nobody else using the site. We walked the roads and one trail that becomes a faint, narrow way through the dry, high grass. This 640 acre park is largely undeveloped but with the maps of proposed plans if was fun to visualize the potential of the area. Hiking, biking , birding, disc golf and more are in the plans for this area. It will be a great addition to the Ridgeline system when these plans come to fruition. Imagine starting at the Amazon Park, heading on the trails to the Martin Street Trailhead, and taking the Ridgeline through to the east end of Arlie Park and LCC. Then you can catch a bus back to the Amazon Center. Who wants to lead this hike?
