Description:

This is one of my favortie coastal hikes because of the different views and terrain - dunes, beach, and lush forest. Not to mention the excitement of spring.
We'll meet at the Wilco parking lot (new location) at Danebo/Willow Creek and 11th. Be there by 8:15 to determine carpooling. Be sure and dress for the weather - which means layers. Call the leader with any questions.

Trip Report

Well. It was a beautiful hike with perfect hiking temperatures, but we didn't make it to 3 Mile Lake. After picking up loads of trash on the beach, we headed into the woods but a flooded trail stopped us before long. Turning back to the beach, we were disappointed for only about 3 minutes, because who doesn't like walking along the beach in good weather with lovely hikers? One of the coolest finds of the day were lots of navy blue hydrozoan that float on the surfave of the ocean but washed up on the beach for us. Common name: By the wind sailors.
