Trip Report

Springtime along the McKenzie is breathtakingly beautiful with sunny skies and temps between 38 - 63. We enjoyed the riverside trail, the lava portions and the river views as we approached Tamolitch Pool. Traces of recent snowfall appeared in a couple shady spots. We marveled at the underground stretches of the McKenzie above Tamolitch Pool caused by lava from Belknap Crater burying 3 miles of the river 1600 years ago. We enjoyed our hike and chatted with Char\'s group along the trail.

Stop by the Obsidians booth at the Mt. Pisgah Arboretum Wildflower Festival, Sunday, May 17, 10-5 pm..
