Trip Report

Good food, thankful hearts, and camaraderie brought in a festive Thanksgiving at the Lodge, planned by Leona Mattson, Entertainment Chairman, and Lila Smith who took the reservations. Paula Vehrs took charge of the kitchen and helped decorate. Ray Sims' fire blazed and colorful tables groaned (Leona made pine cone turkeys for centerpieces plus orange berried cotoneaster and orange candles). This year the turkey and dressing were catered, and carved by Chet and Ruth Nichols. Bountiful treats and warm hearts were in abundance, with Sue Riemer's blessing over all. Thirty-nine adults and three children attended, tallied by Ray Sims who acted as cashier and coffee maker.
