Description:
Crater Lake, one of the world’s deepest and clearest freshwater landmarks, is a premier scenic destination and a true gem of Oregon. Formed 7,700 years ago by the eruption and collapse of Mount Mazama, it is steeped in rich cultural history and lore. Fellow Obsidian Gordon Sayre, professor of English & Folklore, will examine how the Klamath people have interpreted and preserved this dramatic event through their oral tradition.
Join us for this engaging presentation and gain a new appreciation the next time you visit and see Llao Rock and Wizard Island.
