Trip Report

Drove to Jack Lake friday evening. Left cars about 6:00 a.m. saturday with overcast sky. It snowed light snow entire climb and visibility was very poor. A lot of wind, but since we were on the east side of the mountain, was not a problem until the ridge. The west side was covered with 6 to 12 inches of ice. But the crawl, chimney and top were dry. Because of heavy snow on the entire route, climb required 12 hours. Keith and Bob in waiting to climb the chimney because too cold, did not climb to the summit. A tough climb for a group of tough climbers who were Keith Blunck, Ray Davis, Jan Gallenstein, Lee Lashway, Greg Hendrickson, Jerry Mohler, Bob Nickel, Mark Perrin, Tom Woxell and leader Frank Moore.
