Trip Report

Started this climb from Jack Lake and took the Summit Trail two miles to the east base of the mountain. Then traversed steep scree slopes to the south ridge. Set up camp a short way down the west slope. After a not too comfortable night in freezing weather, started for the top at 9:00 a.m. Weather was perfect on the summit, but stayed only a short time because of other groups on the mountain. After a short rest at camp we proceeded down the west side to the Pacific Crest Trail, around the north side of the mountain and back to the Summit Trail. We had great views of the mountain from all sides, having hiked completely around it. Arrived home at 7:00 p.m. A great fall day and a beautiful climb and hike. With Lee Hatch were Bert Ewing, Dan McLaughlin and Brian Gregor.
