Description:

North Trail Head parking lot off Main Street in East Springfield. You will see the entrance on the right just past Springfield Memorial Cemetery.
There is a brand new loop added off the summit of the existing trail.  It has amazing features and vistas.  It just opened but will not be advertised to the public until next year.  This will be a one-way hike with shuttle.  I will ask three cars to meet me ahead of time at the trail head off Bob Straub and ride with me to the east trail head.  Then we can shuttle the group back.

Trip Report

The shuttle system worked great. I met 3 drivers at the parking lot of Quartz park where they left their cars. I drove us all to the East trailhead where we met the group. All seemed to enjoy the diversity the trail had to offer. There were some slick muddy parts in the middle for about a mile. The new trail to the vistas overlooking the valley to the west, north and east were amazing. The rain held off until the last two miles - Yay.
