Description:

For this outing we will be working to clear drainage and improve tread and trail corridor on the Blanton section of the Ridgeline Trail.

Meet at the Willamette and 52nd Trailhead parking lot, the gravel lot on Willamette. If the parking lot is full additional parking along 52nd is available.

Trip Report

Natural Areas and Trees Volunteer Coordinator Joe Waksmundski greeted us at the 52nd and Willamette Trailhead and walked us through the project to improve drainage and clear the trail corridor on the Blanton Trail. After choosing our tools - loppers or terra hoes - we set off. We took note of the wildflowers and kept an eye out for poison oak as we dug, trimmed and cleared. It wasn’t easy to get photos with everyone bent over working so intently, but the effort showed. Back at the parking lot, we enjoyed the treats and the conversation with Joe about the Parks and Open Space plans for the Arlie and South Eugene Meadows Trails.
