Description:

For our first outing of 2026 we will clean the summit and trailhead steps. Plus do a little deburming and maybe clear some culverts.

Meet at the main Spencer Butte Trailhead parking lot, the paved lot on Willamette.

Trip Report

Our group met up at the Main Spencer Butte Parking lot and after a brief discussion of the days tasks broke into 3 groups. One group would stay at the trailhead and clean the steps and kiosk. The second group would hike up to the summit to clean debris from the summit steps. The third group would hike up and then down the Tie Trail to clear duff and slough from coming from a rootwad from the last icestorm before hiking up to the summit to join in on the step cleaning. We made pretty quick if a bit dirty work of clearing the summit steps. Everyone was happy to not have the mess and noise from the leafblower but the work did go a little slower without it. <br /><br />
