Trestle Falls Loop

Description:

With recent rains, the Upper and Lower Trestle Falls should have high flow. Autumn leaves may be out of the trees. Lund Park Trailhead will be the starting point, hiking east on Brice Creek Trail to a junction with the Upper Trestle Loop. This has some steep ground and a couple of challenging portions getting around a root ball. The trai lgoes behind the upper falls and continues down the east side through forest. Footing is tricky near the falls. Returning to Brice Cree Trail will take us to a turn off for Lower Brice Creeks Falls, then back to the trailhead at Lund Park.
Bring snacks, lunch, clothing layers, rain gear and poles if you like.
Meet at LCC at 8:30.
HIke is 5.5 miles, drive is 84 miles, suggested donation to driver: $9.24

Trip Report

Brice Creek and the Upper Trestle Falls loop provided fall leaves, mushrooms, moss and the beauty of water in the lovely streams. With low 50s and dampness everywhere, the forest was a refreshing reprieve for the 6 hikers. The forest is always breathtaking with old growth timber and streamside hardwoods. The trail goes behind Upper Trestle Falls and gives joy with the sights and sounds of flowing water. Lunch near the confluence of Trestle Creek with Brice Creek has a special beauty along the streams. Lower Trestle Falls adds the perspective of being on the same stream only nearer to Brice Creek. Returning to the Lund Park Trailhead completed this 6 mile hike as we headed west along Brice Creek Trail.<br />
