Description:

This is an uphill climb that we will do in a counter clockwise direction, returning by loop to our vehicles. It is low elevation but the trail may be wet in places. We will plan on having lunch at the upper falls. Returning, we have the option to visit the lower falls, an extra 0.6 miles added to our trip. I hope we can car pool, if everyone is comfortable.

Trip Report

It was a wonderful day to be outside. Some snow still lay on the road shoulders as we neared the trailhead. The day had already begun warming and with the sun shining, we soon found ourselves shedding clothes. The trail was in excellent and dry condition and passing beneath Upper Trestle Creek was not a problem. On a freezing day, this might have been treacherous.
After lunch at the falls, we returned to the parking lot in a counterclockwise loop, making a quarter mile side trip up to the lower falls. We encountered no mountain bikes and the other hikers we met were almost exclusively found along the flat Brice Creek section of the trail. This is a great outing for days when the high Cascades are snowed in.
