Trip Report

A very good turn out on a chilly, foggy morning for a Veterans Day hike. We had to change our course a little since the city had the Owasso footbridge closed. No problem as we chatted and walked the river path. We stopped at the Lane Country Veterans Memorial to observe the names of those county and state residents who had fallen in past and present wars. We continued over the Greenway footbridge and on through Autzen Park and crossed the river again over the Autzen footbridge. We all made it back to the Campbell Community Center with no problem. We recognized the veterans in our group: Holger Krentz - Air Force; Mike Smith - Navy; Tom Rundle & Tommy Young - Marines; Richard Hughes & yours truly - Army. We also had a new guest hiker: Michael Bean - Army. Thanks to all those who came out to honor our veterans.
