Trip Report

Unlike the Wednesday rush uphill in order to keep in shape, we proceeded at leisure.

We paused to hear the gurgle of the Amazon headwaters and the whistles of kinglets high above. We strode below towering vaults of golden bigleaf maple and through intimate tunnels of yellow and bronze vine maple. As we headed back to the start, the sun had sunk below the horizon and the leaves still held some magical light. A gathering at Jiffy Market afterward prolonged the sharing of a special evening.
